Yes most addictions start out like that, smoking for example you just start out with the odd one and then it can eventually become a full blown addition.

I actually was hooked to gambling in my youth, but with time I seems to matured, now play just for fun, never bet a money that I cannot afford to lose, not spending hours clicking buttons and hoping to win big etc.

Nice post!! Everyone has their own views about gambling. According to me, Gambling can never become a problem unless and until you take it as an addiction. We all know that the excess of everything is bad so you should take gambling as a recreational game for fun, entertainment, relaxation, etc.

As a gambler myself, i see the gambling community split to 2 characters: One who is gaambling to make profits, as quickly as possible and not thinking of a loss as a potential issue. (the most dangerous)And one who gamble just for fun and takes a risk that he can lose a little.

I totally agree Ronald, gambling for profit usually does not end well

I know that about 2% of the Swedish population have gambling problems. Its terrible of course but I also think that they would have problems with other addictions that may be even worse if not gambling.

It should always be a hobby and fun, if it is not then we suggest some of the outlets we have given links too. I am even open to sending me a pm for more help if these links are not good enough.

Someone once told me not to bet what you can't afford to lose. That's solid advice!!

In Europe, the laws are going to get stricter soon and operators are educating players more which is ideal.

Unfortunately, some folks have a problem with gambling and cannot make it only recreational. It is up to others to be sympathetic toward them and be willing to help others.

if it is a problem it requires help and plenty of stuff nowadays can turn out as an addictive drug, you know - for anyone it'll be something different, for me it's coffee, for you it's gambling, for someone it might be.. dunno... videogames... when it comes to Sports Betting or gambling itself, i've only tried the first one (arsenal fan here), with gambling i've tried cryptogamble's lotteries couple times and that's it.

once again - if it becomes a problem for someone, don't hesitate and don't be afraid to ask for help, there's nothing to be ashamed of.
