The deal will allow sports and non-sports event betting at locations operated by the tribe.
A new Sports Betting deal in Wisconsin has been signed by Governor Tony Evers and the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.
The agreement allows bets on sports and non-sporting events at locations operated by the tribe.
This announcement came shortly after it was revealed that Evers also agreed to a deal allowing event betting with the Oneida Nation, the St.
Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin and the Forest County Potawatomi.
With this deal, a Sports Betting floor can open at the Sevenwinds Casino in Hayward and will grant mobile betting access
on land located within the reservation.
Over the next forty-five days, the US Department of Interior will review the proposal. If it's approved, Sports Betting
in the state could take effect at the start of the NFL season.
Governor Evers commented: "Event wagering will generate additional revenue for the state and the tribe while giving a boost to
tourism and employment in Northern Wisconsin."
Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Chairman Louis Taylor added: "The amendment will allow us to continue offering
a first-rate gaming experience at our casino and increase employment opportunities for both Tribal members and the Sawyer County area."
The Wisconsin Council on Problem Gambling recently commented on the risk factors behind problem gambling with teenagers.
In the risk for teens with gambling disorder was high.
"We thought it was better to give the information to them sooner rather than later."
