AUSTRALIA -- A department report that reviewed the legal status of online gambling in Australia supports the legalization of online gambling if harm reduction measures are concurrently instigated, according to the Canberra Times.
The report could see Australia move to legalize online gambling, since currently Australian are spending $1 billion gambling online with offshore companies, the report said.
There is not yet a clear position from the Australian government on the issue, but gaming companies were encouraged by the details and recommendations in the "interim" report, the Canberra Times said.
