Card Player Poker Tour Paddy Power Poker Irish Open begins April 18

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The newest edition to the Card Player Poker Tour hall of champions will be added when the final hand is dealt April 21 is the Paddy Power Poker Irish Open in Dublin, Ireland.

The €2,250 no-limit hold’em main event is estimated to generate a prizepool upwards of €100,000 in what has become the longest running tournament in European history. Other tournaments including a high-roller no-limit hold’em and pot-limit Omaha as well as satellites to the main event will also take place from April 17 to April 21.

Season II of the Card Player Poker Tour kicked off Aug. 29 at bestbet Jacksonville in northeast Florida with a 14-event tournament series highlighted by the $1,500 no-limit hold'em $300,000 guarantee main event. Harvey Vandeven became the first winner of Season II, taking home $76,598 and the CPPT trophy. The tour returned to Florida in December of 2013 at Palm Beach Kennel Club in West Palm Beach, Florida where Jacksonville-native John McNulty won upwards of $64,000 for taking down the $1,100 no-limit hold’em $250,000 guarantee main event. Ronnie Pease was added to the list of champions when he won the Foxwoods Resort Casino $1,650 no-limit hold’em $300,000 guarantee main event for more than $91,000 in February and Erkut Yilmaz became the most recent winner when he took down the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa main event for $42,665.
