go to cnet downloads malwarebyte anti-malware its free, when i had some bad viruses from watching movies online , it fixed my computer where spybot, avg, etc. none of the others could fix.

I agree! This program rocks. I use both this and spybot simultaneously and removes pretty much all viruses. I use this at work too. As mentioned in an earlier post, AVG is free and works pretty well!

I used to use AVG and loved it, but then they had to upgrade it didn't they and I had so much trouble with it after that, so I was advised to use Avast, which is another free program and I have found it really great. I do quite a bit of PTR work and you get lots of trojans on them and it picked them up all the time.

This may seem crazy, but it's something I tend to do every now and then. I make copies of all my critical files and save my .pst file for my Outlook email. Then, I use my system recovery disks and basically restore my system to its factory settings. It's like surgery and definitely cuts out all the cancer caused by malware and viruses. As long as you have legit system disks and original software disks to reinstall stuff, this is a good approach and usually takes as much time as trying to kill out all the infections if they've gone as far as it sounds.

i use a free version of spybot...you can google free spybot its updated frequently i run it about once a week just to be cautious and it speeds things up. Just thought I'd throw in my free 2 cents
