I have never been to a land based casino.

We have a few land based Casinos where I live here in NYS, but they are about between and hour and two hours away. We did have one that was only 10 min. from my house, but is no longer open, due to the Indian Land claim.
Well any ways, one night we were all there with relatives, when my husband won the jackpot for $13,000.00 plus . My nephew came over to me where I was palying and said that my hubby just hit it big. You have to know my nephew, he is a big kidder, so I just asumed it was a small jackpot, but when I went over to where he was playing I was shocked. I kepted saying 1,300.00 , oh no said the attendant, it is $13,000.00 , and he was only betting 90 cents. Well, I wish you could have seen me, I was so excited. My hubby was just sitting there as calm as can be. Think he was in shock. Well they paid us all in cash and was escorted home by my nephew, lol It was a great day for us, because that afternoon we had our daughters engagement party and went to the Casino.
So you never know, you can hit it big at any time. We had alot of luck there. Sure do miss that casino !!

Here in Holland we do not have many B&M casinos, only the few Holland Casinos and they are always very crowded.
I've been there once but it was on a saturdaynight and it was standing in line for the tables and slotmachines, but fun anyway.
Could not win much tough..

And there are the Arcades with fruitmachines.
Loads of those here, used to go there alot to play pinball and fruities.
But it was kinda fun 15-20 years ago, but not anymore.
The fruitmachines have changed over the years, and the new ones are purely designed to rip you off as soon as possible, with multi-stakes and multi-lines, just horrible. RandomRunners, machines from hell!
The payout percentages are around 70% in the arcades, they won't see me there ever again.

I prefer playing online now, I can still smoke my ciggies (not allowed anymore in both casinos and arcades) and the payouts online are definately better than they are in landbased casinos and arcades.

I totally agree with you Anton. I go to the landbased quite often and can honestly say online casinos are MUCH looser!!:thumbsup

If I can avoid the county mounties and ignore the speed limit I can make it to the boat in one hour.... takes Beaches 20 minutes longer lol - but I was in outside sales and the car only knows one speed on the highway....

Labell.....LOL, it really is only 5 more minutes but to you it feels like 20!

Cas, as far as land based casinos go, the riverboats are OK, but there is nothing like Vegas because if one casino doesn't work the next one might. As I always say when I am there "So many machines, so little time!"

I hope someday you can enjoy the experience!

lol sisters!

anton I played pinball all the time in college... oh how I loved that machine ;)
Thanks for the memory!

I don't quite understand the awp's at Microgaming... I've found them to be streaky and so haven't played them in quite a while.

I do love online best!

I haven't been to a riverboat, what sort of gambling do they have there, is it just tables? Sounds like fun.

The riverboats have all the gaming you would find in a land-based casino...table games, slots, video poker. The only difference is that they are not close to each other (keeps the competion away) and the state where they are located may have laws to keep them too close together. Labell and I have one that is an hour away (if she drives...lol) and there is another about 1 hour and 20 minutes with a third one at about 1 1/2 hours from where we live.

For us, it makes for a nice day away from home!
