I have a question. It may seem dumb but I just have never figured it out, lol. When I wash my jeans (or any heavy fabric pants) the bottom hem always ends up curled up when I get them out of the dryer. I always end up having to iron them and steam the hem.

:ahhhhh5645

Is there any way to avoid that? I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Judy,

I know exactly what you mean....what I did was....started to wash jeans only with jeans, so basically created a jean load (which bugs me at times because you are supposed be able to wash them with colors....lol ) and I always turn them in-side-out....I also set the dryer on delicate...my jeans dry perfect now.

Hopefully that helps.

Hey thanks newgirl. I am going to try that! It is soooo frustrating :cheers

Good tip NewGirl!! Thanks!

I too have the "Curse of the curled Jeans"!! LOL
I'm going to try this and I'll pass it along to my "Cursed" brothers and Sisters!

I wash mine inside out and once I take them out of the washer I shake them really good before I dry them

Thanks, it is one of those things that bug the hell out of me and I never think about it until I take them out of the dryer, lol.

lol one of the quirky things that bothers us all! My mother in law always folded them with seams together, and tugged at the hems before they went into the dryer. I started doing that - literally straightening them how I wanted them to dry - like shaping a sweater you're going to dry flat - and it worked.

WooHoo, I turned them inside out, I snapped, I washed, I snapped, I folded seam to seam, I dried, IT WORKED!!! Thanks for all the suggestions ladies!! streakrockssss

I can't STAND ironing (Is why i don't have one lol) but i use downy wrinkle releaser and it works better i think. It comes in a bottle smells great and all ya do is take what you want ironed..lay it on the bed and spray, then tug down and out and no more wrinkles! Works on everything! Very fast and easy. :proud

Dang, it works on heavy fabrics like jeans? I love to iron just not the stupid hems on my jeans :ahhhhh5645

I don't have that problem cos many of our fabrics are not suitable for the dryer which bugs the hell out of me, jeans are no good and most t-shirts, socks shrink and the elastic in underwear always goes if you put them in much. I mainly use mine for sheets, towels and my son's work clothes go in thank goodness. So I have to have an indoor clothesline in my lounge all winter cos nothing will dry outside and have to shuffle it around the room constantly, as the room is only small.

Sorcer3ss when I sold fabric on eBay I was AMAZED at the Australian customers and their willingness to pay the freight... bet that's why.... I do love my Levi's Stretch jeans - in and out of the dryer and still fit....

Yes labell that's probably why. When my boys were young a friend in the US sent over some velour suits for them and that was my first experience at being able to put clothes in the dryer and boy those suits got a run for the money!!!
