Hey gang....I'm a Jersey girl; so I'll give ya the real scoop on AC!
I used to go to AC (
I am almost ashamed to admit it) between 2 and 5 times a week! I live a mere 50 miles away.
My favorite always was Bally's. Then they opened the Wild West and Coyote Kate's. Kate's is mainly penny slots. I don't know what you gals were playing; but I have won some BIG money on those penny slots. Once on a 40 cent bet I won 800.00 playing that Unicorn game where the unicorns expand on all reels. I got 5 lions on multiple reels with the 3 unicorns! (This is one of the games at Virgin Casino) I used to get comped out the wazoo when I was a regular! Kate's is also smoker friendly for the most part. Only a few sections of machines are non smoking.
Then I found online gambling! No free suites with jacuzzis, no drink chicks, no fab eateries, no spa, no pool and no beach...but like Vix said; I can sit around in my undies and play if I want! And no bitchy old ladies telling me my cigarettes stink! (Even tho she wore so much old lady perfume she could have gagged a french whore house!)
Since I am well on my way to being old and crippled now; I do prefer the convenience of online gambling. But I have to say I miss some of the nostalgia of my former trips to AC.
Just a little advice...you missed the hotdog vendors because it's still just a mite too early for them. Check back after Memorial Day and they will be on every corner. Same story for the little shops on the Boardwalk.
The Mall is still under construction; but there is a Burger King a little ways down the Boardwalk towards Resorts...not that far away from Bally's; but in that direction. There is also a Dunkin Donuts (sorta new) in the other direction (towards Tropicana).
The Pier Amusements are still there and do a brisk business.

All rewards are combined onto one card now. (Total Rewards) I have noticed comps got a lot tighter after they all merged. For comps; Trump Plaza gets my vote hands down! A monthly gift, free room and free cash every week, bingo and show invites every month and all for spending about 200.00 a week!
I have a comp room booked for April 21 at Borgota. As many times as I have been to AC; I never stayed there. I hear it is very luxurious! I'll let y'all know just how good it is when I return!
