ZOCOR SIMVASTATIN UGH!

I was put on simvastatin last Dec for cholesterol. Been taking it every night without a miss and now my hair is falling OUT!!! It is really depressing me and last time i saw doc she said my cholesterol was way down now but might have to saty on it always cuz it runs in my family. Well guess what? NO WAY! This shit hurts my body, makes me dizzy and when i wake in the am now i get scared cuz i cant figure out where i am for a few seconds. Never been like this before. My hair was so nice now it is thin and the top is thin. Makes me wanna cry. The doc told me nadda about this but i saw the change more and more so asked the pharmicist and she said..i dont think so but looked it up and sure enough..memory loss, hair fall out, dizziness aching body rediculous!! I just pray my hair will go back as soon as i go off this crap.

Try talking to your doctor again redfawn perhaps there is some other medication that may be effective and not have the side effects that you are getting.

There are so many drugs out there that have terrible side effects. Sometimes the bad outweighs the good.

My father had a bad issue with drugs he was given! He was falling, stuttering and blacking out from a drug! I will not touch a damn thing unless there is a 25 yr study on it!

I was given this medicine but never took it. I have lowered my cholestrol myself with better eating, its still not in the normal range yet but its not terrible. I refuse to take drugs for it, because of all of these side effects i have heard about it Red! ​

Years ago they put me on the lowest dose of Lipitor. Fortunately at the time I was going to the Heart Institute in the city. After only a few days my muscles in my arms tightened up until they felt someone was squeezing them hard right about where a short sleeve shirt sleeve ends. They immediately told me to stop taking it and that I was one of those people that could not take the statins.

Wow Red. I am sorry you are going through all this, but I do thank you for posting. I just got a script for the same stuff and now I am not going to take it. I am going to try to change the foods I eat instead. I was reading everything to Phil and he is furious right now. He has been taking it and having most of the same side effects. When I read Judy's post to him he said that is exactly how the lipitor made him feel.

This forum is alot more than just a gambling forum!

Vixen, we had the exact same thing happen last week with my mom... we thought she's been slipping into senility... turns out she's developed an allergy to her antihistimine that's she's been on for 20 years!!!! She's like a new woman without it.... scary what can happen with medicines!

I'll never have a cholesterol problem because of surgery I had years ago. BUT I do think it's mostly hype, not all, but mostly, to sell the meds. The doctors have to warn you and prescribe or you could sue... just one more problem with our litigious society.... we need tort reform!!!

Thank you friends, I dont know what will happen if i just go off them so i have to see my doc 1st. I am so damned depressed right now. I slept all weekend long and feel i could sleep all week. The depression deepened because i was so damn stupid and played back my win i was so happy to have won. Thats what greed gets ya i guess. 1600 POOF gone! Its nice to not think of my problems when i play and i thought for sure i would hit a random but i just couldnt. Damn doc never told me about these side effects..she only said i might hurt all over, now i find out it can cause liver damage. Just what i need after having hep c from 2 transfussions in the 80s.
Pissed? yeah i am!
