I made some homemade cinnamon rolls this evening and it smells sooooo good in my house right now!

Mmmmmmmmm. The only cinnamon rolls I make are pillsburry. Homemade sounds so good.

When my three boys were little I stayed home to take care of them. Since we only had one income (and that was not much, lol) I had to do a lot of the baking and things. I had plenty of time to do it at least. I even baked all of our own bread and everything. It became a stress reliever for me over the years. If I was mad or sad or anything, I could work that dough and take out all my frustrations on it. If my boys walked into the kitchen and I was baking more than one thing at a time, they knew to leave the kitchen and leave mom alone, lol. I also had a big garden and canned most of our food. We live close to orchards so I also had fruits to can and to make all of the jams and jellies that we used. Life was so much simpler in those "good old days".

Judy what lovely memories... our family was like that, except Mom didn't can, we were in the city and no garden... but lots of memories as I read your post!

Do you do the buns with icing or pecans lol... I'm partial to the pecan sticky rolls, have been using the same recipe for 30 years. I don't hand knead though, I use my food processor, takes 30 seconds... and the microwave to hasten the rising...

oh now I'm hungry too!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately no pecans any longer. One of my sons lives with me and he is allergic to all nuts and chocolate. So I try to avoid cooking with those things.
