When a soldier comes home

When a soldier comes home, he finds it hard....

...to listen to his son whine about being bored.

....to keep a straight face when people complain about potholes

to be tolerant of people who complain about the hassle of getting ready for work.

...to be understanding when a co-worker complains about a bad night's sleep.

..to be silent when people pray to God for a new car.

...to control his panic when his wife tells him he needs to drive slower.

..to be compassionate when a businessman expresses a fear of flying.

...to keep from laughing when anxious parents say they're afraid to send their kids off to summer camp.

...to keep from ridiculing someone who complains about hot weather.

...to control his frustration when a colleague gripes about his coffee being cold

...to remain calm when his daughter complains about having to walk the dog.

...to be civil to people who complain about their jobs.

...to just walk away when someone says they only get two weeks of vacation a year.

...to be forgiving when someone says how hard it is to have a new baby in the house.

The only thing harder than being a Soldier..

Is loving one.

Thanks Judy!

We need to be reminded once in awhile!!

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you,
Jesus Christ and the American Soldier!!
One died for your soul; the other for your freedom.

Actually Dani, you need to thank moslowjj, he sent this to me in an email and I just posted it out for him. However I was proud to do so. This is NOT any kind of political statement or an attempt to get peoples political views right now. This is a personal statement about real people that are out there fighting for us. Whatever you may think about the war as a subject, has nothing to do with this post. I really hope that everyone can just once think of these soldiers and how hard it is for them, and not try and debate why they are there or if they should be there or anything else. They are there and we need to thank them and pray for them. :friends

Thanks for a much needed slap in the face Judy & mos...

I just brought my daughter home and shipped my son back out. I was so wrapped up in being a mom I forgot to treat them like the 2 soldiers they are. Here I am griping about having to be in bed 24/7 and they didn't even have beds. I am so ashamed. I should have known better than anyone.

The war is over, Judy...you win! (Even tho you made me cry again.)

The one thing Phil and I have taught all our girls is that we owe everything to these men and women. We can't say thank you enough. Every one of our girls from 6 to 21 will approach anyone of them and give them a hug and say thanks. Hard to put into words but they have all our respect. They are all just doing their job. To all of you that have anyone serving Please give them a hug and thanks from all of us. :hug
