HI friends, I wanted to post this so no one else has to see their beloved cat suffer before it is to late. The beautiful flowers I got from a casino almost killed my cat sheba. Were still not out of the woods. I got floweres for mothers day from a great casino and didn't realize that they are highly toxic to cats ONLY. I caught her on my table eating the leaf of this gorgeous plant. The next day she began vommiting and she did it every so many minutes..a total of 20 plus times in the last 2 days. It didnt even occur to me that it could be the plant. She was lathargic and I then realized it was the plant after looking it up online. I didnt know what kind of flower it was but I found it and have left the link. I rushed her to the vets today and she is now on meds and has to go back again tomorrow for another blood test and fluids. And again on Tuesday. I am beside myself. I just want everyone to know about this deadly flower and what it looks like in case anyone here also got mothersday flowers from the casino. I am going to call them and let them know not to send this type of flower out to any more players that might have a cat. It was really sweet of them to send and I dont blame them at all.

I read about that just the other day as a matter of fact. I was looking for something else and saw that another woman had the same thing happen. I''ll say a little prayer that your kitty will be ok. :hug

Thank you dear friends, I cried my eyes out at the vets cause they werent sure they could save my baby. She vommited again a few hrs after getting home. She goes back in the am for another shot of fluids into her body. Its just awful! I have to do out patient cause they wanted more than I have. I gave her a dose of meds and she is sleeping now. I cant sleep..she is like a child to me and I must watch her through the night. I read online that I can get some oat cat grass for her to eat inside the house. She is an inside cat. I cant loses my lil girl! I would be lost without her. :red

Oh readfawn I'm so sorry to hear about your baby,I know how you feel believe me we never had children so my 6 cat's and my dog are our kids.

Hopefully sheeba will come around !

when Max (dog) was vomiting for 6 days last week I couldn't affort to take Him to the vet.
started Him on chicken soup and He got better,I know it sounds stupid but it might help.

Also try to force your cat to drink put water in a siringe and squirt it down Her throat.

It sounds arfull but will keep Her hidrated.

I wish you all the best with sheeba and hope and pray she will be allright

What an awful thing to happen redfawn, I hope your poor little cat pulls through ok, it's hard to believe such a beautiful flower could cause that damage.
