OK, so i went to snopes.com to see if it was true about keeping bees away with bounce fabric softner. I couldnt find anything on it so i started browsing urban legends and i am shocked to say the least about something i THOUGHT was a legend but is actually true! YUK! Don't these maids vaccum under the beds??

Thats crazy, but who the hell still sleeps in a room that staff says they can't do nothing about the smell?

I mean damn, if the smell is horrible and they won't at least switch you to another room, get your money back or cancel the charge on your credit card and go somewhere else! OMG! :laugh

OMG is right. There is no way I would stay in a room when the said they could do nothing about the smell. I would rather sleep in my car! I agree with Carey too:

How would you NOT know something is under your mattress? Wouldn't it be lumpy?? This just creeped and grossed me out! What I couldn't believe is it wasnt just one but many! Sooo anyone know if bounce keeps the bees away? I have read online that it does but wanted to make sure. Would hate to think it does and use it only to find out that it will anger or attract them instead. I hate bees. Scared to death of them and i live in Arizona.

That's what I kept thinking, how could you not feel that eeeewwww....

and here's some info on yellow jackets... lots of sites say yes bounce works great...

Step 1
Bounce fabric softener sheets repel yellow jackets. They hate the scent. I have rubbed these sheets on my clothing when outside, and they fly up to me, then take off. They won't stick around to bug you for long. Put one in a shirt pocket. This tip is known to be used by postal workers who are outside a lot.
<LI id=jsArticleStep2 itxtvisited="1">Step 2
Don't wear the color yellow. This is the color they love the most. Avoid yellow if you'll be outside near the bees. They most likely think you're a big flower and are sure to bother you.
<LI id=jsArticleStep3 itxtvisited="1">Step 3
Keep food and sweet drinks indoors in the late summer and early fall.
Yellow jackets get crazy this time of year. They seem to know their time is short, and become extremely aggressive. If food is nearby, you will have some friends join you for the picnic. (nasty friends)
<LI id=jsArticleStep4 itxtvisited="1">Step 4
Keep outdoor trash cans sealed tightly. Yellow jackets will show up in huge numbers if your trash cans are open. They smell food, and food drives them.
<LI id=jsArticleStep5 itxtvisited="1">Step 5
Don't wear perfume, especially floral scents. You may as well shout out "I'm a big flower!!!" to the bees, because that's what they'll think you are. Leave the perfume for later.

I read on a "household tips" site that Bounce dryer sheets - original scent - repel wasps, bees, hornets, yellow jackets, and mosquitoes. They hate the smell. Carry a sheet or two in your pockets and they won't come near you.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Huh! Who knew? dryer sheets keep bees away
I got this in an email the other day. I know Bounce works with keeping bees away, but I never knew about all of the other things you can use it for. We also pretty much had the same discussion in one of my health groups; the ladies there said they had the same results with Cuddlesoft fabric softener sheets. Thought you might like the list too:
My mail carrier told me that the US Postal service sent out a message to all letter carriers to put a sheet of Bounce in their uniform pockets to keep yellow-jackets away. I use it when I am working outside. It really works. The yellow jackets just veer around you. All this time you've just been putting Bounce in the dryer!
1. It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them. It also repels mice.
2. Spread sheets around foundation areas, or in trailers, or cars that are sitting and it keeps mice from entering your vehicle.
3. It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don't get opened too often.
4. It repels mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season.
5. Eliminate static electricity from your television (or computer) screen.
6. Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling.
7. Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a sheet of Bounce.
8. To freshen the air in your home - Place an individual sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang in the closet.
9. Put Bounce sheet in vacuum cleaner.
10. Prevent thread from tangling. Run a threaded needle through a sheet of Bounce before beginning to sew.
11. Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet of Bounce inside empty luggage before storing.
12. To freshen the air in your car - Place a sheet of Bounce under the front seat.
13. Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The anti-static agent apparently weakens the bond between the food and the pan.
14. Eliminate odors in wastebaskets. Place a sheet of Bounce at the bottom of the wastebasket.
15. Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically attract all the loose hairs.
16. Eliminate static electricity from Venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling.
17. Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A used sheet of Bounce will collect sawdust like a tack cloth.
18. Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an individual sheet of Bounce at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper.
19. Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes or sneakers overnight.
20. Golfers put a Bounce sheet in their back pocket to keep the bees away.
21. Put a Bounce sheet in your sleeping bag and tent before folding and storing them. It will keep them smelling fresh.
Feel free to Bounce this one around!
Lizzie I have no idea but that bastard was after my blood! I was up at Lake George with my family on vacation and we were by the pool. This thing was the hugest weirdest looking bee I have ever seen! And he was only after me....no one else! it would fly and try to land on my hair so I would go under water and every time I would resurface he would plop right back on my head. I got out of the pool and he followed me, i ran around the deck for a while and he chased me, jumping in and out of the pool and literally drowning myself just not to have this bee attacking me but nothing worked! At one point during all this chaos and my family trying to help me but laughing at the same time, i must have banged my toe on the concrete or who knows what. But I didnt feel it at the time because my adrenaline was so pumped! Somehow I managed to wrap myself in a towel and run across the road to the house. It was then that the throbbing started and within a few hours it was more than apparent that I broke the damn toe! So I guess you can say.....I am freakin terrified of the damn things!!
I sent vixen a pic of my toe on her phone, lmao, it was real bad!
