Finally got to talk to the surgeon tonight that will be doing Phil's surgery. We both liked him very much. Insurance can be a real PIA so I was getting a little worried about that. Tomorrow he is going to be working on getting Phil transfered to either University Medical Center or Tucson Medical Center. He said that might take a couple of days. After the surgery Phil will be in ICU for two days and then about a week more in the hospital. After that he might have to go the rehab for a little while. Phil and I decided that might be the best way to go. I don't think I will be able to force him to do what is needed. After him being gone for so long I think I would just end up babying him and that won't help. He is in good spirits but very lonely. The girls and I go up there twice a day and we bring dinner every night and picnic in the room. I will let everyone know as soon as I have the date. We all thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your good thoughts and prayers. They mean so much to us. Much love to you all!

Sounds like you are a lot happier after speaking to the surgeon, now you know exactly what to expect and I think that is a wise decision to send Phil to rehab, he will get the best care there, thanks for updating us hon.

I know you will be so glad when this is over Michelle. I am glad you are able to realize what you will be able to do and what you won't. This will make his recovery much faster and better for all. Keeping you all in my prayers. :snwman

Michelle,
I am glad Phil is getting the care he needs. He will be home recovering before you know it. I'll keep him & your family in my prayers and thoughts. Give him a great big hug for me, if you would please.

Hugs,
MP

Hey Missmichelle, I will be praying for you and Phil and family. I myself has had two open heart surgeries so I know he is going to need all the support you can give him. Most important thing is prayer.

They got Phil transferred to TMC last night. Surgery was supposed to be tomorrow morning but the surgeon came in this morning and said not until Monday or Tuesday. He is getting impatient and feeling miserable so I hope they hurry before he tries to leave. I keep begging him not to leave and he says he won't but I know how unhappy he is. Hoping to go up tonight and bring a nice dinner and try to cheer him up some. I am so lucky that they let me and the girls stay as late as we want. We were worried with the new hospital that they wouldn't allow us after visiting hours but they don't seem to mind as long as we are quiet.

Being the hospital is awful I know. I hope they do the surgery soon for his sake and yours. I know how hard it is when you are not the one in the hospital too (been on both sides of the coin) :)HG
