Phil had the heart cath done and we got some real bad news. He has two blockages one is 80% and the other 90%. The Dr couldn't fix them without a great risk to Phil. He has to have bypass surgery. The girls and I are terrified about this. Please keep the prayers coming his way. We are not sure yet when they are going to do it. I will have to go meet with the surgeon either today or tomorrow and they feel they want to get it done as soon as possible. They will be transferring him the the Tucson Heart Hospital to do this. We appreciate all the prayers and support just please keep them coming. We really need him to pull through this. He has a few extra risk factors than the normal person. Thank you so much.

It is great they are transferring him to a hospital specializing in the heart. The bypass has some risks but not having it has more risks Michelle. I will keep him and you and the girls in my prayers. If I lived close enough I would come and sit with you through this. Keep us updated and hang in there hon.

Thank you Judy. I hope I am not driving you all crazy with this. I feel like I have no place to turn. I am not trying to make the forum depressing. I just need to know some people are praying for him. He is the love of my life!

Only good thing is that now you have direct contact with the doctor, so at least you will get the correct information - and as Judy said please don't think you are depressing us or a burden, and hope it is a comfort to think that people all over the world are praying for you, Phil and the girls.

Michelle...you silly girl! Don't you worry about us here at the board. We are more than happy to see you posting, hun. You are bringing us information that I know, I personally want to hear.

Even tho I've never met you or Phil; I feel like I have known you all my life! I've seen your kids grow up and grandbabies being born, holidays and vacations, bithdays and more....all in the part of my brain that takes your words and turns them into cyber-memories. You could never be a burden!

I'm still praying for Phil. Keep your chin up, lady! That's an order! I heard my mother's heart surgeon say, "You know, these bypasses are the new tonsilectomy!" So, if he thinks they are a breeze....perhaps we worry too much about some things.

You guys have given alot of comfort to me. MP for some reason what you just said seems to have calmed me. I thank you so much for that. They have moved him from one room to another so many times. Once the nurse had one patient about 5 rooms away from Phil and she needed them to be right next to one another. Phil was in better shape than the other person so they moved him. Now they moved him two floors down (still in ICU) but another unit. So they just got him set up and we are off to go see him. Thank you all for everything!

Sweet Michelle, I have been keeping you, Phil and your family in my prayers daily since i first read your post a couple days ago. I'm not real good with words but i do know that God is with him and your family. Take peace and know that he is wrapped snug in Jesus arms of safety and love. And that he is with you always to comfort and protect, you and the ones you love. Hang in there hon, Give it to God .
My prayers and good thoughts are with you and yours.

Prayers for you and yours as you face this.

Please post away, any and all info and feelings so we can pray... I too feel like the Streak is my family - and family listen to each other.

I know of so many people who have thrived after these type surgeries. The specialists there know of Phil's added issues... he'll be in good hands and soon be well I pray.

My brother survived a quadruple bypass ten years ago. He was a diabetic who simply couldn't keep his sugar levels under control. He survived, and lives a healthy life now.

We always pray for the surgeons when facing surgery. The Lord is the Great Healer, may Phil be in His hands....

Tom had glue that sealed all his wounds..he just told me his heart doc was telling him that now they do it where they just make little holes and dont go thru the ribcaage at all ...your hub will probably be on a blood thinner for life and a few other drugs but will end up being healthier! good thing they caught it before something tragic. Ask poor Vixen . Finding it first is better .
Sounds like he is in a good hospital .
Tom also has diabetes
