Hello Streakers!

I was just wondering if any of you can relate or been there...My little guy is in JK and is constantly getting sick, stuff like random fevers, flu, and cold. It always seems like he gets it after being in school for just a few days. I feel so bad for him. He is a very high strung child with lots of energy and when he gets ill, it totally drains him. Will the madness ever end?:sick

Hi, oh yes it will end... ease up and get better.... I'm "just" a mom, no medical education, but it seems like they all share every cough and germ at that age.... Winter makes it worse as they are all together indoors in school. I think it eases as they get a bit older and get immune to many common germs.... Best thing you can do is keep your Tylenol at hand, make sure you take care of YOU too so you don't get run down.... Lay in some Dove Chocolate or some special bath salts - something to keep YOUR spirits up when he's sick....

Encourage him to wash his hands often, and discourage him from touching his face, nose, mouth or eyes as that's one of the easiest ways of spreading the germs.

Capture your memories now, for this too will pass in the blink of an eye!

Thanks for the input, labell. And I think I'm going to take your advice and think of "me" for once.

Hello,
I am a mother of five children...ages 19yrs, 17yrs, 14yrs, 5yrs, and 4yrs. During the early years of the first three I worked at a preschool, surrounded by germs. Along the way I discovered a minor miracle. It's called echinachea, and it boosts their immune system It comes in the form of drops for children. It's tasteless and you can add it to their drinks. They will never know it's there. I recommend you look into it. You can find it at health food stores.

Meanwhile, hang in there. Before you know it they will be in college. I swear it was just the other day I was holding my now 19 year old (6 foot 4 inch) first born son as a brand new baby. Truly, what an amazing journey it has been!
