My Old friend Doug and his 13 yr. old son are picking me up tomorrow after Micha's baseball game. I'm so excited!! First Doug and I will catch up, he's a good guy, known him 30 yrs. And then hang out with some very kind people and DANCE to GRATE music

It's one day, a handful of bands and then Cubensis will play promptly at 7 ish!

Doug and his son love to fish, :fish I may have to borrow someones pole and see if I can get lucky!!!??

I'll take lots of photos too!!

Hey Judy- I did check out the fish! And I wish some of you were here, I honestly thought about my closest online buds the other night when I went dancing.. Sending good vibes!

Is Doug single? Ya. He's part of a group of deadheads from high school- late 70's. He was good friends with my boyfriend Brett. Oh and Doug has a sister, Leslie. They pretty much raised themselves. A.J. thier Dad was Vice-President of ABC telivision! They lived in huge houses, and when they got too wrecked- they'd move! Doug and Leslie are both great parents!! His Dad asked him how Micha turned out so cool, Doug said "I did everything you didn't do!" Oh I was gonna tell you that A.J. lost his job due to his drinking!
He'd come home after 2, the bars closed. Ten of us or so would be hanging out. He'd walk in, look around, take a bong-load and wave goodnight.. One of those things cemented in your brain!!!

A few years ago, Doug wanted to hook-up. But I told him "after 30 years in the friendship zone it would almost be insestious!!" Super nice guy and good friend, no love connection, If I had to pick, I'd take the friendship tag.

And I'm waiting to meet my future X, moslow! Wonder what shade he will turn when he reads this????

I forgot... Doug sent me that silly horoscope list that I posted. Thats where Jj and I "met" I think I proposed to him. No I DID, after he mentioned going to a place called Winterland in S.Francisco all the cool bands of the day played there. Jerry and the boys rocked those walls, big time!!! The walls just kept breathing along!!

The pics should be great!! The natural beauty of the spot and all the colorful peeps in colorful clothes!!

Lucky, when my daughter was 2, my mom got her one of those tanks that look like a gumball machine. Thanks Mom.. Anyway we got 2 little feeder fish, thinking it would pass soon enough. The "tank" got so dirty and was a pain to maintain!

Those suckers lived for at least a couple years!! They grew as big as the space allowed. It was riducules!!! They started to shed scales (gross) anyway, they were disinigrating!!!!! (sp) I said to her father- "I think it's time for a "mercy flush"!!

I just remembered. When I was 4 or 5 I had a goldfish in a bowl on the window sill in the kitchen. The fish dies and my Mom didn't have the heart to tell me. Instead, she carved a carrot and put it in the bowl. Well, by the time I figured it out-my family especially my sister razzed me to the max!! But NEVER in front of my Father, I was his "baby"
Can you believe that?? Strange kid, strange adult!!

Yep, thats just one of many Judy!! I'm dog-sitting next weekend, my sister and her hubby are going on thier bowling trip to Laughlin. I get to stay with my MoM!!!

One more, this is totally sweet!! I was 5 years old. 1967. There was a show on "Hobo Kelly" she would put stuff in her magic machine and if your name was drawn, you won all the prizes.

My Mom must have filled 100 or more cards to put me in the draw. She would walk to school to walk home with me. One day she says "YOU WON! YOU WON ON HOBO KELLY TODAY!! she didn't just fill the cards, but watched the show to see if I was drawn!!

That was a score!! All kinds of good stuff!! The UPS pulls up with a few big old boxes, full of toys, vanity stuff, a sleeping bag that I had for YEARS. I left it at UCSB, after being in the front row at a huge Dead show. It was full of mud and a good place to retire!

But ya, she's my partner in crime. I'm really glad that we're gonna spend some time next week!!!

Hi guys!!!

I had the BEST time I've had in ages!!! It was a good clue? when Cubensis started thier set with THE WOMEN ARE SMARTER

The lake was beautiful, the whole area was... ( I only took one picture! D'OH) and that may have been the inside of my purse

There was kindness all around and a great sense of community. The park staff said we were welcome anytime, such a nice, and thoughtful group. (See the "spirt" of the Dead lives on) :world

We went campsite hoping Saturday nite, and chances where you knew at least one person, if not more, but everyone was more than willing to share what they had.

It was THE COLDEST NIGHT EVER!! OMG!! When I finally crashed, Doug was sleeping in his car. I crashed in the car, got as warm as possible and didn't move till the next morning, when I felt 195 yrs. old!!
But, I was able to make it down to "Lady Purple's" camp. She made purpel pancakes, purpel potatoes, eggs, and bacon and sausage. She told me, "I'm a vegeterian Liz, but I don't want to turn anyone off, or be closed minded, so I cook for everyone!" She's a art teacher for LAUF when she's not attending shows. I think she fed about 100 people.

Doug and Micha tried to fish- they caught one, small, so they threw it back!

What A TIME!!!

This makes me want to take my boys camping! Do you think it is cheating to stay in a hotel though, cos since my husband passed I just don't feel safe doing this sort of thing without a man. I would stay in a hotel and do the caverns and stuff in the day and head to bed in a nice room I can lock!

That's MY favorite form of camping Vix!! Then you can really enjoy all the other sites! lol

I used to camp with my boys. during their cub scout years and that was enough to convince me that "rustic camping" is usually TOO hot or cold, too many mosquito's and crawley bugs, too much work to keep the tent & sleeping bags "sand-free" and it never felt like a vacation since I was always on cooking and clean-up duty:dizzy...hahaha

Give me a nice Motorhome, Cabin or hotel ANYTIME! hehe
