6,650 players have taken part in the tournament, held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, so far.
As week six of the World Series of Poker tournament came to a close, the organizers have commented on the success of
the event while highlighting some key statistics for the returning competition.

Attracting 6,650 players from across the globe, the 52nd annual World Series of Poker main event has been held at the
Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Each finalist is set to bring home $1m, while the winner will walk away with $8m.

“We could not be happier with the turnout to this year’s Main Event, from the big international crowd to the return of
some of the greatest players of all time,” said World Series of Poker senior vice president, Ty Stewart.

“Following a year of such uncertainty, it is amazing to have the poker community together again. The energy and excitement in the
room is palpable as legends and amateurs from around the world gather together to try their chance at a world championship title, once again.”

Some highlights for the week include appearances from the tournaments previous winner, Chris Moneymaker, and poker legend
Doyle Brunson. Former NBA player Toney Parker also took part in the competition this week, the six-time All-Star was unable to
advance to the second day of the competition however.

Week seven will see the main event no-limit hold ’em final take place, while some industry veterans will be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame
