I am headed to my oldest sons house tonight to spend Thanksgiving with one of my twin boys and my oldest and his family. They are doing the cooking this year, that is a first.

So tell us, what are YOUR plans this year?

HTH:)

How about those of you not from the US, do you have a holiday like our Thanksgiving? Tell us about it.

We'll be gathering at my Mom's house tomorrow, thankfully we still have her with us at age 91! Beaches bought the fresh free range turkey yesterday, raised about 10 miles from here. I get to roast him and carry him over for the feast. I'm making stuffing and am sauteing the onions and celery as I type ;)

We'll gather tomorrow about 1 and then have pie several hours later lol

I'd love to hear what other Streakers are doing.

Happy THanksgiving!!

HTH:)

No Thanksgiving, no Turkey here in Amsterdam... but my mother is a good cook and she's going to make something nice this Friday - still, nothing to do with Thanksgiving, but we have the Dutch Santa Claus, which makes this period also very hectic, it is celebrated on 5th December when people give each other presents, especially children -- if they have behaved themselves, lol.

BTW, Judy - nice that you don't have to do the cooking this year!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone and enjoy your Turkey!

HTH:)

I love love love the stuffing weesie. I think it is my favorite part of the dinner, lol.

Mouche our family always celebrated a bit on the 5th, St. Nicholas day... we'd put our socks up and they'd have candy, oranges and nuts stuffed inside in the morning.

Your story reminded me of the movie Miracle on 24th Street, and this scene:

I hope everyone has a great day with their family, we don't have anything like Thanksgiving here in Australia.

Yes, that's what I did as a small child! How cool labell that you know this typical Dutch feast as well!

Mouche it really is a small world! I know the tradition in our family came from my mom's side... it was a small thing but meant so much to us in that looooong wait till Christmas.
