I spoke to my doctor the other day and we decided that I will cut back first using the patches and the QuickMist spray I bought, he realises I can't just give up totally straight away, he called me a committed smoker! I am trying hard, and have been having headaches, but will perserve. I hope to cut back each week.
I know its so hard Sorcer3ss, I have heard from some people, when you are
ready to quit it will get easier. for me it's not the actually smoke or nicotine
i miss. Its the habit its self that gets to me. if that makes any sense, lol
coffee and cigs just seem to go together every morning,
Sorcer3ss, I hope that works for you. The only thing that worked for me was to quit cold turkey. I had smoked for 30 years and was up to about 3 packs a day when I stopped. So how much have you cut back?
You all who are givng the smoking up can do it. I too am a smoker, and I tell you what I haven't stopped smoking yet, but have cut down from 2 packs a day to less than a pack a day. How? I go outside and smoke only a half a cigerette at a time. Go back out about a half hour to an hour later and smoke the other half.
I sure can tell the difference with just that alone.
I know when I go outside to smoke I smoke a heap less, the problem here is that my cat is an indoor cat and it is a real problem trying to go outside to smoke and him not escaping - last time he got out I spent a good half an hour trying to get him back inside and was nearly hysterical. I always smoke outside when I go to stay at my son's and boy do I notice a difference. Maybe I should try walking away from the keyboard to do it, then I could try the half the cigarette thing, rather than just sitting here puffing away. Although I must say half of it burns away in the ashtray lol
I did the same thing queen. I go outside AND i roll my own, lol
it cost alot less and its a pain in the butt, but i think both things
help me smoke less. some day I'll be an ex smoker
I too am a smoker for 20 years now but I have never smoked much more than a pack a day. I bought me a rechargeable e-cig and it works great. I am planning to get a new one soon and completely quit the real cigs. Have any of you trying to quit used them? They are great! You get the nicotine but none of the other crap in cigs.
