Son's Birthday

Our youngest son turned 26 yesterday.

He recently earned his masters degree in chemistry and yesterday of all days

he was offered his first education related job.

I am now the proud mama of a nuclear magnetic spectroscopist !!!

And no, I really don't know what that is!

Our daughter has a masters in journalism/communications and does NOT use it in her work...... lots of money there.

Our other son has a degree in autocad(computer assisted drafting)............. and does NOT use it!

what a waste!

my sister is a doctor in Paris, France and of course she was one of the best in chemistry, she graduated a higschool with a degree in chemistry also

that sure is a mouthful! I just googled it and read a bit on wiki about it lol and the definition is over my head!!!

I wonder if they've ever done a study of how many of us have degrees and actually work in the field we studied? lol I don't my my masters, just a BA, but it was hard work getting it!

iustin, that's fascinating... I love math, but the sciences make my eyes cross! I just could not keep up lol...

As for training in one area and not working in it... I do feel the universities are a business, their goal is to get us through, not necessarily make sure we're in the right area for us... but having gone directly from high school, I didn't have the maturity to recognize it at the time...

Real casual, easy going........... you never know.........

I didn't go to college.... Hated school, graduated after my junior yr and never looked back! It's really too bad............ I'm not too stupid, to be able to graduate early, just hated school with a passion!

Iustin, we are sooooo happy you are part of the staff here at the Streak! Your education is great and a Doctor for a sister, how wonderful, your parents must be very proud as they obviously did a great job raising you guys.

I got two Colleget Degrees and went to work in a restaraunts all my life, lol. I could never have sat in an office, I needed the customer contact (gotta have people!!!)

Living here in the US, if I had a sister Doctor in Paris, I know where I would vacation!!!

My sister is a grade school teacher in Indiana........... Then I have a sister somewhere in Washington state, but, I don't know where.

That's about as far away as my family gets.

But, I have an uncle and cousins in and around Baltimore, too!

Hey, iustin, I am old and wrinkly, you got anything to make me young and beautiful again?? Oh, and add skinny to that.... that's all I need....lol.... what do you think?

Justin.. I hope you don't mind me asking but are you a male or female? in the states Justin is a boys name. I was just wondering because so far this wonderful staff has been pretty much all women.

HE is all male, lol. Actually we have had other male mods before (not here at the Streak but at the Winning Streak we did) Remember Seaman? He still comes to visit but he moved on to other projects way back when.

We love having Justin (and actually his real name is iustin with an i not a j, lol)
on staff here, he fits right in with the rest of the crazy staff too
