Some strange noise outside????

And I was thinking of driving a block.... I don't have a umbrella 
Talk about spoiled!!!! Within a block of where I live I could- load my prepaid, eat Middle Easten food, Japanese, Chicgo Dogs or other junk, good Mexican food. Get my dry cleaning done. If I still drank, theres a full-on bar Thats all across the street.
My side.. 2 pizzeria's, one left, one right. Eat Bagel's and Lox (yum) A small deli. A good Video store, Video Hut, they carry movies that the big corps. don't think we should see. I get pedicure's in the same little strip mall.
Oh and did I mention I live above a hair salon???
I don't ever wanna lose my little sancutary- I really got blessed, best owners one could wish for. Somethings wrong-call, let Paul know and he'll have a check waiting to pay for the work

I could go, ok a cpl. more. If I walk to Ventura Blvd (2 blocks away) you can get anything and I'm about 10 minutes from Hollywood

And if you frequent these spots too often theres a Curves (ladies workout) and a Private training spot on my side of the street!

We are starting to do more stuff now that the boys are older . We went to a taping of the Maury show just for the hell of it and had a great time

Ok I'm back in your honor I just opened my door to look at Mullholland Drive! I have a great view! On a clear day it's really cool at night you can see all the lights from the MANSIONS!!!! When I was a teen it was a huge make out spot
Now they have gates and bars between us.5 blocks from Laurel Canyon- lots of money there and well know musicians.
And in the other direction is Topanga Canyon. It still has a cool vibe. In the 60's and 70's it was a haven for musicians I still love. Cass Elliot (Mama Cass) had David Crosby and the boys over for a jam.. They left thier side projects and Crosby Stills Nash was born. Joni Mitchell (my favorite chick singer/sonwriter) was there, she wrote her album "Ladies of the Canyon" And btw had her pick of ANY male musician she wanted and did. James Taylor lived there, Carly Simon, etc. etc. etc.
Sometimes after work I'd take a drive thru Mullholland drive, round round and down to THE VALLEY peaceful and beautiful!!!
BTW- you can reach the Ocean thru any of these routes!
Let me know when your coming back, you don't have to pay for a hotel, or meals!!
And Judy- Ya you're not wrong about your post. I'm glad I'm in my 40's I still look pretty good but the compatition to look perfect is soo out of control!
Northern CA is great, it's almost like another state though. They hate us there lol! Did you hit San Francisco Judy??

Sounds fun! Gotta tell you though, when I came to LA, I was at Lake View Terrace. That was in 1993!!!!! My boyfriend at the time had lived there a while back and we went and stayed with his friend there. What a cool view looking down at the freeway lights though.

I've been at my place for the last 2 weeks w/the FLU! Just talked to my Sister though whos been there.
She's getting better. Still can't walk or even stand by herself. Still needs total help with all her personal hygien (sp). She has a LONG road ahead of her. She's going to see a nuerologist to find out what is fireing in her brain, that will give us a better pic. of how far she may come.
Waiting (not long now) thank God- for her mortgage to come thru so we can get her someone Mon.-Fri. and my sister and I will swap weekends.
Talked to her lawyer yesterday, he's dragging his butt! Told him I'd pick up her med. records if he was too busy. He assured me not.
Apart from the flu, when I'm there somethings are mega stressful and I feel horible to see her as she is!! But try and put myself in her shoes. Prayers and good vibes WELCOME!!!

Thanks for the info on LA... I was there 35 years ago lol, and not since. We did do San Francisco, Bakersfield and LA - took a month and drove across the country.
When you talk of all your neighborhood, it's fascinating. I'm in a small house in a small city... it's cold and damp and only 45 today... I keep reminding myself that in March this will feel like a heat wave lol.
I'm a block and a half from my Mom's... two blocks from a huge Krogers, and two strip malls. I cook too, a lot! BUt am glad the drive thrus are close by lol.....
