Urgent: Warning message from EcoCard Ltd. to all account holders
We have become aware that fraudsters may be trying to obtain the personal and/or credit card details of EcoCard account holders. At the moment these attacks appear to be committed by people using an internet based Instant Messaging Service such as MSN but they may also use emails.
If you are subjected to such an attack you may receive a message from someone trying to add you to their contact list or an e-mail.
If contact is made through an Instant Messaging service the user identity will be given as "EcoCard security", if by email the e-mail address given will be "[email protected]".
The first sentence of any message may read "Hello I am one of the EcoCard online live customer service team".
They may ask you to provide:
The people responsible for these 'phishing' attacks send the same message to as many people as they can - they don't know your personal details - the aim of the message is to get them.
EcoCard will never ask you to disclose any of your personal details by email or any instant messaging service and will not make any contact with you by any Instant Messaging Service and no genuine EcoCard email addresses end "hotmail.com", they will all end "[email protected]".

How do I know this is not a Spoof email? Spoof or 'phishing' emails tend to have generic greetings such as "Dear EcoCard member". Emails from EcoCard will always address you by your first and last name.
