I am just not up to all the baking and stuff this year. I was at the grocery store yesterday and found slice and bake sugar cookies with crushed peppermint in them. I can slice and bake. I know that is not what you meant, but it is my stress free solution. gngr

This is a really good dessert (no bake) and it has cookies in it, lol.

Cookie Salad

•1 (3.4 oz) pkg. instant vanilla pudding
•1 cup of milk
•12 oz of cool whip
•1 (20 oz) can pineapple tidbits, drained
•1 (11 oz) can mandarin oranges, drained
•2 bananas, sliced
•1/2 cup maraschino cherries, halved and well drained
•1 (11.5 oz) pkg. fudge stripped cookies, crushed (save a few if you want to garnish the salad)

1.In a large bowl, whisk together the pudding and milk until well blended. Fold in the cool whip.
2.Then fold in the fruit and crushed cookies and refrigerate for at least one hour. Garnish with reserved cookies if desired.

It does sound good! We are baking at my mom's house again this yr we each bring a cookie to make then we share so we can have several types and not do a lot of cooking :) BUT I am making some to send to my lovely CareyG and family as well.

I thought no bake would be good to help cut down on the kitchen fight over the oven...lol Something like rum balls but not them I hate them!

Have you considered sprucing up already made cookies?

I took Oreos, pretzels, pizzelles, Pecan Sandies, wafers and shortbread cookies and either dipped them in melted choc. chips or drizzled the cookies with the choc mixture. White choc chips work well too, and give you a variety of looks.

You just add a tablespoon of shortening to a 16 oz bag of chips and melt it slowly. Stove top or microwave works. After dipping a dozen or so cookies; your choc. might start to set up; but you just reheat it to the desired consistancy and carry on!

While the cookies are still "wet" you can add crushed candy canes, sprinkles, colored sugar, etc to make them festive.

Thanks for the ideas! I am going with a Buckeye one that is balls of peanut butter half dipped in chocolate. I seen a few with taking vanilla wafers and dipping them that looked really good.

What are fried noodles?? I dont think we have that here in the USA. The only fried noodles I know of are the ones you get from the chinese restaurants that you dip in duck sauce!

CHINESE NOODLE COOKIES (Also called Haystacks)

Melt in saucepan or double boiler over low heat 1 package chocolate chips, 1 package butterscotch chips. Stir in 1 can Chinese noodles and 1 can salted peanuts. Mix all together well and drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheet. Cool. These may be kept in refrigerator or freezer.
