My two cents.....

Here I am, 38 years old and in my second year of college. I was too big of an idiot 20 years ago to do it.

My two cents is this..........PUSH YOUR KIDS HARD! Life would have been soooooo much easier if I had not "squeaked by" and high school and my parents MADE me continue to take science and math classes even though they were not required. Chemistry after 20+ years since last science class is HARD....I am holding my own but it is tough!​

I know only too well how hard it is to return to study, especially when you have a family. My ex returned to university and studied for 15 years, a lot of that was also at night, so I was left to raise the boys. Hang in there though, as it will be worth it in the end.

hard to do it once you have kids and life gets in the way

I think its awesome what you are doing Rifle! I wish I had went to college and regret it now bigtime! You should be very proud of yourself and your children see what you are doing and that an education is so important!​

You really are an inspiration! I know how hard it is to go back after all those years, stand tall and be proud! My mom entered college at age 45, she had six kids at home and really wanted to quit. My dad "made" her stay and what a blessing it turned out to be. He was in a terrible accident and had to retire just as she graduated! She often said she'd have ended up as a clerk at KMart instead of as an elementary teacher.

And thank you for reminding me of how blessed I was to go straight through college... I'm caring for my mom every day now, she's 91 and we're letting her stay at her house by sharing the tasks among 4 of the 6 of us. I'm there 4 to 6 times every day... but she was kind to me and loved me growing up, her generosity is unbounding, how can I do differently? ANyway I'll make sure to tell her of your efforts, we'll both keep you in our prayers! I'm very very proud of you!!
