I just now had to throw my crockpot away. I wore it out, lol. I think it is like the 6th one I have ever owned. I need to go shopping for a new one next week. I use it at least once a week! So sad. It was a huge one though. I need to get a smaller one anyways.

Wouldn't you know I found tons of great crockpot recipes on Pinterest today

I had been thinking about using mine again Judy, it was from the 70s, bright orange and huge, but unfortunately it got wrecked when my house flooded so had to go, have been tossing up whether to replace it or not, they have so many packet sauces in the supermarket for them now.

Oh, I have never used those packets. They have too many ingredients that are bad for you. Just throw in your own ingredients and leave it go. Much healthier and tastes better.

Oh Carey, you don't know what you are missing out on! Throw all the ingredients in in the morning and just go through your day without worrying about it. Then at dinnertime TA DAH! Dinner is ready!

I remember when the kids were little my favorite crockpot recipe was to take round steak, cut it into cubes and throw it into the crockpot. Then layer it with sliced onions, sliced, peeled potatoes, drained, canned green beans and top it with a can or two of cream of mushroom soup (no water or anything, just right out of the can) smear it to cover everything and cook on high for like 5 hours or so and when it was done, it made a nice all in one meal with gravy too!

Yeah we used to do something like that, and of course the meat is so tender because it has that long slow cooking, I used to love it when I was working, so nice to come home tired at the end of the day in winter and have that lovely cooking smell to come home to and all ready!!
