Microgaming ANNOUNCES LICENSING AGREEMENT FOR TERMINATOR 2™
Same Make. Same Model. New Mission. Terminator 2 enters the world of online gaming.
ISLE OF MAN – Through a licensing agreement with Studiocanal S.A., Microgaming is developing an online slot based on the massive blockbuster and sci-fi thriller,
Terminator 2: Judgment Day™.
Terminator 2, the much anticipated follow-up to The Terminator, was released in July 1991 to worldwide acclaim. The films’ extensive use of computer-generated imagery (CGI)
created previously unseen visual effects and played an integral role in bringing two of the main characters to life; the T800 (Terminator) and T1000 (Evil Terminator).
In recognition of its remarkable visualizations, the film won four Academy Awards and two BAFTA Awards including Best Sound and Best Visual Effects.
The movie was also a financial success with worldwide box office sales of over $500 million.
Featuring an all-star Hollywood cast headlined by Arnold Schwarzenegger in his most famous role, an absorbing story line and thunderous special effects,
Terminator 2 highly influenced popular culture, particularly movies in the genres of action and science fiction. The all-time classic regularly appears in the top band of movie polls;
it is included in the American Film Institutes’ Top 10 science fiction films and is 35th on the list of The 500 Greatest Movies of All Time, ranked by Empire. It is one of the most beloved sci-fi films of all time.
Launching this summer, the T2 online slot will be a 243 ways-to-win game which expands to 1,024 ways-to-win during the free spins feature, triggered by three or more Time Travel Orb symbols.
The iconic T800 and T1000 will offer additional winning opportunities.
