Not sure if you have ever heard of May Flies. Here is a picture of a bridge not far from where I live that crosses the Susquehanna River. What you see is the bridge covered with the May Flies.

Sheesh that's a heap of them. We have something called March flies here and they are really big

That's a bunch. We've not seen anything to compare. Closest thing are the bats at Carlsbad Caverns.

I'm familiar with may flies but I have never seen that many before

we had them like this in lacrosse wisconsin every year!! nasty thats for sure

yeah, we got them pretty bad, especially along the mississippi river
and yes, they are disgusting, lol
