I'm sitting here with Claire, who's the best soul/friend that anyone could hope to have in thier life.
Mos, since I knew an old mistake by the name of Jamie, we know refer to you as Sweet Jamie...
We had a meeting with the Dr., nurse and social worker a couple days ago. I'm not turning this into a fight or pissing contest with my Sister. My Brother says-"whatever you decide Teri" I got an email from Teri asking how I wanted to proceed with my Mom's care. She knows how I feel, the facts have been laid out. She still wants to put the trek in my mom and the feeding tube, and Virginia will be moved to a nursing home. EVERYTHING MY MOM DIDN'T WANT.
Hey Taz---- My sister said to me last week, when I thought one of the Dr.'s were getting thru. She said "Do you think Mom is still mad at me, my sister said horendous things to her. I said "Teri, Mom loves you, you love mom and all is forgiven and forgotten"
I can't thank you all enough for you love and kindness. Virginia would tell you the same, she knows you too!!!
One time I asked her, "do you think it's strange or do you think it's possible to have such strong bonds with people you've never met face to face?" She said "Of course!" "In fact, a lot of the time, you can be closer than people you see in your daily lives"
I'm gonna post what Teri sent, this is from the meeting with the hospital staff.
Love you all, Liz

- aggressive treatment trach and peg (feeding tube)
- EEG showed abnormal on left side but none was done previously for baseline – physician was unable to give us further information

- Will she become responsive – no one knows
- What damage if any – no one knows
- Left side affects the right
- No one know if she will awake
- Quality vs. quantity no one knows
- Aggressive would be a feeding tube and trach
- Non aggressive would be palliative care removing all life support
- She may need two different surgery or they may combine
- No pain medication
- Choice of aggressive probable placement in Nursing home
- Choice of non aggressive probable placement in nursing home
- Skilled nursing either way
- There are risk of the surgery possible respiratory infection or other infection or pneumonia
- The family needs to review the above and come to some decision and it was decided after discussion that each family member will notify Teri Neal of their decision and she will notify Michael in social service of the decision
And my sister still has doubts?????
We don't get what we want, but either way, my Mom has to go to a nursing home. I would love nothing more than to hold her and tell her how much I love her and go when she's ready.
If thier is a god, I pray he takes her home SOON.
Again, love you guys!
