American computerised gaming equipment designer and manufacturer International Game Technology (IGT) has settled a trio of patent litigation lawsuits with Aristocrat Leisure Limited.
Land-based gaming machine manufacturer Aristocrat Leisure is based in Sydney and sued IGT in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California in 2006 regarding patents related to multi-level progressives such as its Hyperlink product.
In 2010, IGT filed a patent lawsuit against Aristocrat Leisure in the United States District Court for the Central District of California regarding the authentication of software in slot machines while a third suit initiated later that year was brought before the Federal Court of Australia, New South Wales District Registry by the Australian firm concerning a patent related to a side bet slot feature.
