Well it is 40 deg celcius or 104 deg farenheit here today at 3pm there was supposed to be a cool change, I sure hope it comes through as we have a north wind which is really nasty, I am just hoping there are no bushfires today.

I guess they are saying there are supposed to be like 30 states involved in this winter storm coming. Thank goodness it does not include the west coast this time! I am sure we will be getting ours soon though. It is really cold but after a few weeks of no sunshine, at least we have been getting that the past few days. Stay warm and safe all of you in the winter storms path.:snowing

Yeah I couldn't deal with the snow, especially after hearing how carey was trapped in her home for a few days because of it earlier, that would be horrible.

It's a slippery slope here in NYC with ice and snow. On the way to work today a woman asked my brother if she could hold on to him as they tip toed along. Chivalrous as he is, he advised her she'd be better off holding on the the fences! My mom went out then turned back! No fool she! LOL

:snowing

I just have to say that with what other countries are suffering like Brazil, Australia, Egypt, Haiti, etc. we have to thank God--this is just a minor inconvenience for us.

Hi all, extremes are awful no matter high or low!

We've got the ICE... never ever ever seen anything like this... we're in the southern swath of the storm that had the freezing rain. The ice is between 1/2 and 1 inch... Thankfully we bought lots of rock salt, so are able to keep some safe areas for walking... even the grass is not safe to walk on!

My mom's power is out, beaches gas line is frozen and so no furnace... i'm ok, but this weather makes us all nervous and on edge! Thank heavens my internet is on! Take care all, and just think, only six more weeks of winter!

Never heard about the rock salt - yes I saw on the tv earlier how bad it was, they said all schools were closed in chicago.

and just think, only six more weeks of winter!

The two groundhogs predicted early Spring. Don't know their track record, but it's good news.

P.S. One newscast last week said "pickle juice" of all things will keep snow from sticking. I've yet to try it, but will.
