There is a lot of news affecting all of us this week that you may not be aware of. Several articles have been posted in our forum, and they seem to be passing a lot of people by. IRS wants PayPal offshore card info is one of them. Let's see a show of hands of those who have a Paypal account. That's what I thought - nearly all of you. Why is your Paypal account the IRS's business? These are US government employees hoping to pry into your Paypal info. No wonder the US is becoming a country everyone loves to hate.

But better news for US players, looks like there is some serious activity on Capital Hill to turn over the UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006). Congress is Called Upon to Prevent Implementation of Internet Gambling Ban is a must read for US players. The same goes for another posting ANTI-UIGEA CONGRESSMEN KEEP UP THE PRESSURE.

US players - if you are a registered voter, then it's time to get busy again. I have a list of all US Senators and Congressmen listed here. Please take advantage of these resources and make your voice heard. It's never too late to speak your mind.

The playing field for US players is abysmal. Most players in the US only have non-regulated, unlicensed casinos to do business with. How is this protecting the consumer? The US online gaming community will never go away - and its industry needs to be regulated NOW!

Thanks for passing that on redfawn. We have been following a lot of this ourselves and you can all find some of this same info in our News and Views thread. I was unaware of the PayPal thing though. I have a PayPal account but I usually only use that for surveys that I do and they put a few bucks in there once in a while. That really sucks though. :(

This is getting scarry! New homes plunging prices, some stores putting a limit on the rice you buy, gas prices, food so high now, and some trucking comp talking about not delivering to stores. Yet we have some politicians spending 400 million on their campaigns! I just heard on the news that some people have to decide if gas is more important than breakfast for their kids. So damn sad!
