Iowa has moved a step closer to becoming the first US state to regulate online gaming as the state House approved gaming bill SF458 by 72 votes to 21.
The bill, which has already passed through a vote in the state Senate (9-6) following a redrafting of the bill’s language by the Senate Ways and Means Committee in mid-April, now progresses to the desk of Iowa Governor Terry Branstad for approval into law. iGaming Business understands through its sources in the state that the bill is expected to be signed by the Governor.
