Had to come and vent. We owed just $237.53 to the shitty IRS and sent the check..well i checked the bank account and these leeches stole over $700!!!! What the hell!!? We are now over drawn 150 and have other bills going through. I am livid!! How can they do that?? We only owed the last of the balance of 900 and it was a little over 200. Now Mike is dealing with the bank and irs. They should credit the 500 back right? And wells fargo better credit back the 150. DAMN it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you need an icon with someone choking the shit out of the IRS lol

i am really sorry to hear that red fawn. i have been going thru IRS nightmares for years. one year i owed them 42,000. i always used to go to the land casinos, and never pay my taxes on winnings, and it finally caught up with me.
they audited me and consolidated the three years that i still owe so i have to pay penalties and interest on each year. even if i make a monthly payment of say 300, my penalties are 500, so it goes negative.

i cringe when i hear those letters IRS...

few years back, they did to me what they did to you, only worse...took 4200. out of my account, and left me penniless.

but they DO send notices, and letters of intent, etc so you must have had some idea that it was coming??

screw em...:money i really feel for you. but there is nothing you can do.

good luck getting anything back from them, i can't even get thru with them on the phone, and they send me so much conflictling bills, i dont know my ass from my elbow...

The IRS does NOT play around. I have been a tax office manager for 9 1/2 years and the IRS will get their money one way or another. It doesn't seem right, but its the government, and they can do what they want when it comes to owing them money. Once they are ready to collect, they will get it. You have to fight and fight and fight with them, for a chance of being able to get by.

There is a guy that works for my dad, i am helping him with some tax returns that he hadn't done in the last 6 years, and when the IRS caught up with him, they told him he owed and astronomical amount.

He worked as a sub contractor so there are alot of deductions he can take, but he put it all of for so long, that the IRS starting garnishing his wages, he made $600-$700 a week and they took everything but like $42 of his check, froze his bank account and wiped it clean, levied all property and vehicles he has, and only one good thing is that his house isn't in his name.

He had sold one vehicle and his home for a dollar each to his girlfriend to put it in her name.

His boss was compassionate and laid him off from work just so that he could get unemployment, which is one of the very few things the IRS can't touch.

It is crazy, if the IRS owes you money, they are surely not gonna go out of their way to tell you, but if you owe them, they will take every penny if they get the chance.

Sorry to hear your troubles dear, i wish you the best of luck dealing with them.

OMG!! That sounds so bad!!

What never ceases to amaze me are all the rich people that don't pay up. Like Wesley Snipes, for one...... owes a ton. But, let a little guy owe a couple hundred and you are dead meat to them!

Hope it gets worked out for you!

Oh hon, how terrible. Dutch tax authorities are much the same, but taxes on winnings are unbelievable to us Dutchies.. also, because the casinos here are owned by the Dutch state.

But logically, if you have losses in casinos, are these tax deductable? I guess not... pfff

Yes You can deduct your losses from your winnings..but your losses cannot exceed your winnings.

I know it sucks but you can't fool the IRS and they will catch up to you so its best to pay what you owe when you owe it.

Hope everything works out.

Thanks friends for your help and support. We had been paying every month what we owed them then one month lapsed because we got in a bind..we paid the last of it off by check and thats when they took more than was owed. Contacted the bank and they owed us 500 and that same day they added 382 back but kept all over draft fees so now once again from bills going through we are 245 overdrawn and the worst of it is that rent is due and we get paid Monday and owe 620 and the pay is just 930 and then we have to wait 2 weeks before pay day again!! I do not know how we will make it through this. Please pray for us dear friends. After paying the bank and rent we are flat broke for 2 weeks so there goes gifts for Christmas and what ever else. I am devastated by all this and very stressed out.

Really??? Nalgenie , WOW..
Any land based casino I know of the IRS won't even know what you have won unless your winnings are in the thousands and the casino fills out one of those IRS forms when you claim your winnings from the casino
