Hi, I'm new

Hey all, I was going to post in that thread up there ^^^^^ but it's closed, so I'll post here instead. So... a little about me... I've been playing poker online for about 3 years. I've had moderate success. I visit other poker forums (the other big 2 that I'm sure you all know), and found out about this site on one of those forums.

Thought I'd come by and check it out. Go easy on the noob!

Freerolls are fine and dandy, but I mainly just like to talk poker strategy I would only enter Freerolls on sites that I don't already have money. Heck, if I really like it here, I might even sponsor a freeroll on Pokerstars or Full Tilt. I'm a long time poster on P5's, but have found that the poker talk there is really lacking. I'm hoping to find a nice forum where it's a little better, but not elitist like that "other" poker forum that I won't even mention.

Oh really? Well, first I'll give you some insight into why poker is my game of choice. First, when you walk into a poker room, you aren't playing against the house, you are playing against other people. I'm a competitive person by nature, so competing against people who have the same odds as me to win is alot more fun (for me) than competing against the house who I know has an edge.

I started playing poker about 3 years ago. The first book I read was Harrington on Hold'em Volume 1. If you are really wanting to learn poker, this is THE book to read, followed quickly by Volume 2. The knowledge gained from reading (and understanding) those 2 books, will put you above the average poker player on any given poker site.

After that, you pretty much have to get in the game. Nothing beats experience. Maybe after I've seen some of you play, I can offer some advice

I think having a poker player here to give advise and tips would be so cool, please if your interested let us know get in touch with Taz, Judy or CareyG maybe we can set up a poker lesson/advise etc room. I will be in Barcelona next week so I cannot get back to this subject until I get back.
