i am doing a wedding set up for a very sweet young lady who is on a very little shoestring budget.she is getting married in june and so i really wanted her to have a great day.she is having 125 people attend.so i came up with this bbq ribs, bbq chicken, breaded chicken for those that did not like bbq chicken.macroni and meatballs, regular salad, three bean salad, and potatoe salad.we also got a fire hall to let her have the recp party there for free as my girlfriend is a volt fire fighter.she just loves the idea and it cost her 3 times less then what she had to spend as a wedding gift i gave her all the centers for the tables free and all the little wedding favors free.just wanted to know if you think that i should add a shoestring wedding plan such as this to my menu for the people that really cant afford the exp wedding.i think it would be great for those that cant have the big wedding that cost so much in this peroid of time when money is so tight.i really would like to know your feed back on this as it will help me know if there are alot of people that would enjoy this type wedding.hugs alea

What a wonderful idea Alea. I think you should add that as an option. A lot of people are on tight budgets, especially these days.

That sounds great Alea. My husband was a house painting contractor and he always gave discounts to senior citizens too. :)HG

I'm up for the BBQ....make sure there is lots of beer GG22

Sound much more comfortable than the usually stuffy wedding.
I like it.

Alea...its pretty cool that your girlfriend is a volunteer firefighter too. That sounds like a great job. ;)

I know you don't know me, but I have to put my 2 cents in here. I think that is a wonderful idea for the people who don't have much money. I am in that boat. When I got married I had a VERY small budget to work with. I borrowed my "wedding dress" from my mother, who bought the dress in Hawaii. It wasn't really a "wedding" dress, but just a pretty dress. For my reception, we just had cake and punch. We really couldn't afford anything else, so we did what we could do. So, for people like me who had to plan everything myself with no money I think it is a wonderful idea for people with not a lot of money to help them plan and do "things" for the wedding. I think you are a wonderful person for thinking about the "little" people. Much respect to you.

Love YOU Alea!! I think it would be a fantastic addition to your wedding "menu"!!!

In fact, the food sounds better than the "normal" beef, chicken or fish options- that never come out the right temp. or any and all kinds of mishaps and complaints.. I know from my catering exp.

This world is a much better place with you in it!! :)HG ThiSpr

aww sweet lizzz i just love you too sweetie.i came up with a few different menu ideas these are for the summer weddings.one is the bbq it all thats bbq ribs,chicken,3 bean salad, potatoe salad, cole slaw, lettuce salad macaronis meatballs, and sub buns for meatball sandwichs, the next one is called pic-nic-wedding,its deep fried chicken, hot dogs.hambugers, potatoe salad cole slaw and seasoned fries, lettuce salad, and water melon.the next one is called the meat lovers wedding delight, ribs, steaks, sausage, lamb, hot dogs, and burgers, also get antipasta salad.garden leaf lettuce salad, buns garlic bread, and steak fries this one would cost a little more because of the steaks and lamb.but they will have the option not to have those.all menus can be mixed and matched.well guys what do you think.hugs alea

Hello! I think a "bare bones" wedding option is a fantastic idea. Sorry can't get my creative cap working on a slogan for it... but something like "simplified elegance" or some such name.... Just don't cut your margins too much so you lose money. Hard enough running your own business without losing money....
