Google announced in late February that will make changes on its search algorithm and declared war on editorial content aggregators, not its content. The first changes have already begun to appear.

In a posting on its official blog, Amit Singhal and Matt Cutts, software engineer at Google, wrote that the new algorithm is designed to reduce the ranking for low-quality sites, sites that do not add value to readers and who have copied content from other sites.

"At the same time, we will improve the ranking for quality sites that have useful and relevant content for readers, as well as information arising from investigations or tests thought," he said.

"We believe that the new modified algorithm is a big step in the right direction in order to help people find better quality in their searches on Google," the official blog search engine.
