I haven't been for a long, long time, but I agree with dani about staying in the downtown area, it is such a buzz there, I stayed at the Golden Nugget which had the most luxurious rooms I had even seen and was probably the cheapest hotel I had ever stayed at, but it is probably getting older now.

i like downtown too....freemont is cool when the 5 block tv comes on at night. we stayed at the Plaza. Its older but clean and comfy...while we were there they were filming CSI and the cast stayed at the plaza. got to meet a couple of the cast they were real nice. Nick (George) was surprisingly short but very good looking close up...lol.

reguardless of where you stay have a blast...enjoy it....

lol Christy on several things! my hubby hated gambling too until I started sharing my wins lol... nothing like coming home from land casino and handing over some hundreds to change their attitude ;) And now with the latest wins he's even bragged to his parents!

Personally I love the other end of the strip, the Riviera... but downtown is so very wonderful. The Fremont, Four Queens, Fitzgeralds all on the same corner!

Since the city has become such an entertainment / family place, I'd try to stay somewhere that there's something for hubby to do.... keep him busy while you're at the casinos lol

Lots of luck!

Yeah I agree with you labell, my ex hubby doesn't gamble, but he likes listening to music so he used to run from casino to casino listening to bands

I haven't been to the Vegas locations, but Harrahs has their hotel, Caesars Palace and Paris Las Vegas there. I've stayed at the Caesars in Atlantic City, and the Harrahs in Tunica, both comp trips that I earned from play at the Cherokee Harrahs (and I'm certainly no high roller). The Caesars in AC was so luxurious...very nice. The great thing about staying at their hotels and playing in their casinos is the Total Rewards program, which got me some nice comp trips, including airfare. They even offered me a comp trip to Lake Tahoe for 2, for 5 nights, last year, but my work schedule wouldn't let me go. They have locations all over the country, and your players card gets you points at all the locations, which is nice.
The Harrahs.com website has lots of info about their Vegas hotels.
Sorry so long winded, but I really do love their hotels and player rewards!

Wow I didn't realise that they had rewards for staying at their hotels, that's great.

Depending on how much you like to walk any of the hotels on the strip are beautiful. Mid-strip, ie - Treasure Island, Mirage, Venetian, Caesars are all in decent walking distance of each other and all are beautiful hotels with lots of shopping availability.

Personally, I like downtown the best - five major casinos within one block. Stayed at Fitzgeralds (was very low scale) last time, but going to try Four Queens the next trip.

Just remember to sign up for the slot club whereever you play and you will be eligible for room discounts on future trips, food and beverage discounts, etc.

Have a wonderful trip and congrats on your pending marriage!
