5.2 quake!!

Who felt it? We just had an after shock that freaked me out! Was working and my pc was shaking and I thought I was getting dizzy or something...lol My daughter said she woke and thought the devil was shaking her bed like in the exorcist movie, her head board was actually banging against the wall!

Didn't feel anything here in NY, just boys jumping on the bed, dog barking, neighbors mowing lawn, etc... Would of rather had the the quack lol

if you google that date you will see many theories about what it represents but in the Mayan Calendar they tracked dates over times which all started to rapidly approach one final date in the calendar which the last date is Dec 21, 2012. If you look at the intervals or dates they listed some famous world events or rather world changes have occured either on or very close to these dates. They seem to represent a change of an age or era. Some say it means the end of the world but if that is true then what are you going to do about it, sit at home and cry about it?

The earthquakes may show up less on the richter scale compared to the west coast however they seem to be far more damaging and disruptive in the MO area. Look up new madrid fault line (oops sorry Vixen).

this was really hard for a girl with 6 years, my grandmother was praying and crying...after 2 days the calm return to the family and the city....
after this earthquake we had many more... the next years...Chile is a earthquake country...

WOW, thank you for that information hon. I think after the big Y2K thing and then having it be nothing, I just sort of stopped listening to all these theories and all. Life is too short to be worried about so many things. What will be, will be!

Mikky, how awful for you! You must have been so scared. Have you been through a lot of them since then? Maybe you should move near me in the US!

Well if you look at the numbers of 5.2 sure it is smaller than 7 especially considering increasing the richter scale by one adds a factor of 10 times the energy. If you research the earthquakes that occur in the middle of America these ones are less on the richter scale but can be far more damaging and dangerous while appearing smaller for a number. This small 5.2 earthquake was felt in Canada and if you look up the quake I think in 1812 they were less than 9 for ratings but I think the big one was estimated to be 8.0 and this one shook the entire continent of America.

i totally felt it, my hubby just left for work and i was at the kitchen table reading a magazine and the whole table started shaking and the fridge was rattling, had no clue what happened i thought i was going crazyyyyyyyy until my mother in law called a little later to see if i felt it

Yes their was an earthquake at duckey's house and you know what I slept right thru it my honey woke me up and said did you feel the bed shaking.....duckey opened one eye and said no....went back to sleep ....was really miffed when they pre-empted the Today show for local coverage of a rotten chimmney that fell down because of the quake and then everyone had to call in and tell their earthquake stories. this is the 3rd quake in the louisville area that I can remember. But more important than that is Derby is right around the corner have you picked your horse yet.......love duckey

Earth quakes, how scary, the most we need to worry about around here are ice and winter storms. Oh, yeah, I almost forgot. We sometimes might see a tornadoe here and there!!!

I've lived my adult life with that attitude- gambling or whatever vice.. But over time, the sucky part is WE DO LIVE!


Earthquakes SUCK!!!! I've been thinking lately that CA. is due. They turn me to jello! And then you have some idiots saying how they think they're cool. I'm like- STFU moron!!!

Life goes on. You can't roll up in a ball and hide from it!
