Cabbage Roll Casserole

You are all welcome. I love cabbage rolls but hate that they take so much time to make. Just came across this recipe. Gonna try it out next time I have a craving!

Cabbage Roll Casserole

1-lb ground beef
1-tsp oil
1-onion sliced fine
1/8-tsp pepper
Salt to taste
1/2-cup raw rice
1-can (19oz) tomato sauce
3-cups shredded cabbage


Brown meat in oil
Add salt, pepper, onion, and rice
Mix well
Add tomato sauce
Put cabbage in large casserole dish
Pour mixture over cabbage (don't stir)
Bake @ 325* for 1-1/2 hours

I am going to try the Cabbage Roll Casserole. Phil usually makes the stuffed cabbage but it it so time consuming. I think I will surprise him with this. Thanks!yourock!

I wouldn't mind trying the cabbage casserole out either, if I could work out what a can of tomato sauce was...lol

lmaooo, it's tomatoes cooked down to make a sauce :)
we are lazy here in the U.S and buy it in the can instead of
making our own, lmaooo
we even buy our spag. sauce in a jar

Yeah I use the pasta sauce in a jar too, but as far as I know that's the closest to tomato sauce in a can, we have bottled tomato sauce which I think is the same as your ketchup

yeah, canned pasta sauce, thats it, except usually no
spices in it :)

ALMOST BUTTERFINGER BALLS


¾ cup graham cracker crumbs

1 stick margarine

2 cups powdered sugar

1 cup peanut butter

Chopped peanuts (optional)

12 oz. chocolate chips melted

1 T. shortening



Blend together graham cracker crumbs, margarine, powdered sugar, peanut butter, nuts if desired. Form into 1” balls. Melt chocolate chips, shortening together in a double boiler or in microwave. Insert toothpick in balls, dip in chocolate. Place on waxed paper lined cookie sheets. Allow to cool completely. Store in refrigerator.

AUTUMN GOLD PUMPKIN CAKE

1 pkg. Duncan Hines Deluxe
Butter Recipe Golden Cake Mix
3 eggs
1 c. water
1 c. solid pack pumpkin
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 c. walnuts, chopped

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease and flour two 8 inch
pans. combine cake mix, eggs, water, pumpkin, cinnamon,
ginger and nutmeg in large bowl. Beat at medium speed with
electric mixer. Stir in 1 cup walnuts. Pour batter into
cake pans. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes until
toothpick inserted in center cools and frost with vanilla
frosting.

TEXAS BROWNIES

2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup strong brewed coffee
1/4 cup dark unsweetened cocoa
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp vanilla

Frosting:

1/2 cup butter
2 Tbsp. dark unsweetened cocoa
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 cups powdered sugar

In bowl mix sugar and flour. In a saucepan, heat butter, shortening, coffee and cocoa until boiling. Pour ovoer flour and sugar mixture. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla. Stir well. Pour into a well greased 17 1/2" X 11" jelly roll pan. Bake at 400 for 20 minutes or until done. While baking brownies, put butter, cocoa and milk in pan. Heat to boiling. Mix in powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir until smooth. Pour warm frosting over brownies as soon as you take them out of the oven. Cool and then cut into 48 bars.

JAILHOUSE DIP

2 containers shrimp flavored Cup-O-Noodles
1 can chopped black olives
2 cans tuna
16 oz jar of mayonaisse
sliced jalapenos (to taste)
3 chopped hard boiled eggs.
2 cans tiny shrimp (or imitation crab meat)

Cook Cup-O-Noodles as directed on package. Drain and cut up. Add all other indredients and mix well. Let chill for at least two hours. Serve on crackers.

(This is a good recipe to adapt to your own taste. I use salad shrimp AND imitation crab meat and only one can tuna. You could use any combination.)
