The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission (MLGCC) is accepting license applications for 17 locations
designated for retail Sportsbooks in the state’s Sports Betting legislation.

Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency Director Josh Martin told the Sports Wagering Application Review Commission
Tuesday that regulators are anticipating a late fall launch for Sports Betting.

The MLGCC is in the process of issuing licenses to the 17 entities granted a license in the legislation. The locations are:
Horseshoe Casino Baltimore; Hollywood Casino Perryville Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland; MGM National Harbor;
Ocean Downs Casino; Rocky Gap Casino; FedEx Field; M&T Bank Stadium; Oriole Park at Camden Yards; Bingo World;
Greenmount Station; Jockey Bar and Grill; Maryland State Fairgrounds; Rod-N-Reel; Long Shots and Riverboat on the Potomac.

There are as many as 23 additional retail licenses that will be open to application later.
Maryland’s Sports Betting law also allows up to 60 mobile licenses.

Online sportsbook operators can partner with the 30 Class A and 30 Class B licensees that offer retail Sports Betting.

Maryland lawmakers are taking a diligent approach to launching Sports Betting after
voters passed legislation last November to legalize the activity.

“We’ve waited this long. We need to do our due diligence and not rely on any other licensing or decision-making
that was made,” said Del. Dereck E. Davis (D-Prince George’s), head of the House Economic Matters Committee,
told Maryland Matters. “We do our own homework, and whenever it’s ready, it’s ready.”
