Bettors will be able to wager at temporary retail Sportsbooks at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.
Connecticut will launch retail Sports Betting on Thursday, Sept. 30 at the state’s two tribal casinos, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.

The Department of Consumer Protection approved state licenses for the two casinos, the last regulatory hurdle before they could phase in retail and then online Sports Betting. Online wagering will roll out the first week of October.

Foxwoods, operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, has partnered with DraftKings, which will debut a temporary retail sportsbook and additional kiosks throughout the resort.

A permanent retail sportsbook is under the final stages of construction.

“Today we celebrate a new era for our Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, sports fans, Foxwoods guests and Connecticut residents,” Rodney Butler, Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Chairman said. “We thank Governor Lamont and his administration, regulators, and the many lawmakers who helped pave the way for legal Sports Betting and expanded gaming in the state. Their collaboration and hard work has allowed trusted gaming operators like our Tribe and DraftKings to help lead innovation across Connecticut. With NFL season in full force, it’s game on, and we look forward to a successful launch.”

Additionally, Mohegan Sun will hold a ribbon-cutting Thursday to unveil a temporary FanDuel retail sportsbook at the Bow & Arrow Sports Bar, which will include four live betting windows and 50 kiosks.

Online Sports Betting is expected to begin Thursday, Oct. 7.
