Bubble Gum Day At Juicy Stakes
Celebrate a day of action in a $1,500 GTD tournament!
Bubble Gum Day
There are curious traditions around the world. In the USA, the first Friday
in February has been Bubble Gum Day since 2006.
The American children's book author Ruth Spiro launched this day in 2006.
What may sound strange at first, on closer inspection turns out to be a very
serious action with a charitable and educational background: schools and
pupils are supposed to donate on this day collect for a good cause!
Instead of selling anything, as usual, the children should donate 50 cents
and, in return, can chew chewing gum at school that day. It is up to the
schools to decide for what purpose the collected funds are donated.
This day of action has developed into a successful model over the course of
time and, in addition to schools, other institutions such as museums, libraries,
retirement homes and even NASA are now taking part.
