The most romantic thing that has happened to me on Valentine's day is when my (now ex) made me a special lobster dinner, had a candle lit bubble bath set up and ready for me, along with a gift of a new plush robe and roses. Now that was so sweet.

My Husband does not do a single thing romantic. The ONE time he gave me a flower for valentines, he later told me he found it in the parking lot so picked it up and gave it to me. He is CHEAP . I do not get a card, or anything, LOL ..... I am lucky to get on my birthday :) Wish I had better news to share lol

I'll wish you a Happy Valentine's Day, Jensia :hpyval

Yep, I've got one of those, too. One of the ones who says Valentine's Day is all about money, invented by the card companies. But I sure wouldn't mind a card on the day, or a bunch of flowers or chocolates, just once. And bless all those hubbies/partners who do remember the day. Account: Berylium

The most romantic thing that ever happened to me actually was done by my ex husband. While I was showering he left me a giftbox on top of my keyboard so when I came back and went to my computer I would find it there with a big red bow on it. It was a diamond nameplate necklace that I had always wanted!! It was the best Valentines gift he ever gave me, actually it was the ONLY one he ever gave me! LOL

Back in my late twenties in dating my first husband....he took me out to dinner in Chicago, IL to a restaurant "Black Steer"....it was a wonderful Steakhouse and I had my very first Filet Mignon.... cooked to perfection..we of course sat in a romantic setting and had a few drinks...him Black Russians and me Harvey Wallbangers.....oh my......My Mom and Dad managed a motel in Wheeling, IL called the Wishing Well Motel......and I lived with them....so when our date was done and we returned home to the motel....in the lobby of the motel...now the apartment came with the job.... so the lobby was attached within the apartment...upstairs with living room ,bathroom and two bedrooms and then downstairs the front desk/lobby and then the kitchen and master bedroom and bathroom....it was just a Ma/Pop motel.....10 rooms and 8 kitchenettes.....with laundry room on premises......so anyway we rang the bell and announced to my mother jokingly.... that we wanted to rent a room.........yeah right....well I was 29.......but her mouth dropped open and then she says....really now.......well how bout you just go upstairs and that can be your room for the night..we laughed... but obviously.... the surprise was on me cause when we went upstairs the dining room table had a beautiful red tablecloth on it and in the center was a beautiful glass vase with a dozen Red Roses and a bottle of pink champagne(my favorite)and shrimp cocktail and red and white tapered candles lit....OMG it was beautiful and here he called my Mom to tell her we were on our way back and she got it all ready and the flowers had been delivered when we had left earlier......as we had champagne and shrimp cocktail in the candlelight....I was proposed to and we were married in July of that year....we have one daughter together....and were married for 7 years......Valentine's was beautiful and the very first time I ever received Red Roses.......so romantic!!!

Hope all of you have a wonderful Valentine's Day and much love!!!!!!

:)HG

Thank you Jackpot Capital and Streak for a great contest.

My hubbie of 32 years has never been very romantic in the strict sense of the word. But to have a husband for 32 years who is steady, stable, reliable and loves me IS romantic... The year I'm thinking of is one where he overheard me say we didn't celebrate as it was just another day... and he went out and bought me the biggest heart shaped box of our local top of the line chocolates. What a wonderful surprise.

My husband is very romantic, but i must say the most romantic time was when he left me a very romantic card on the table with a dozen of red roses, and as always, he signs his notes to me saying, I Love You, Always have and always will!
Thanks Jackpot Capital and Streak!

I dont know if this is romantic to others but just yesterday V day i finally was able to go to the dentist
and have a lot of work done after all these yrs. Now the dentist is not romantic by any means but
the gesture behind it sure was to me. I always pay my boyfriend for my half of rent and living
expences but he told me to take the next 6 months of my ssi and make payments to a dentist.
I needed a root canal, cleaning and fillings and it all came to 3200..1000 down, 600 on the 1st then 465 every
month for the next 3 months. I can't tell you the pain i was constantly in since i was about 26..i am now hmmmm
in my 40's. I am really looking forward to having a bowl of ice cream, eating a raw carrot and vedgies, drinking
hot tea and chocolate and all the other things we take for granted. I have lived off very soft room temp
foods for yrs. Mint chocolate chip here i come!! lol. To me that was the best gift of love i could have
ever asked for. What a guy! He isnt the hand holding , kissy face, or even hugging emotional type
but through his actions i know he loves me!

Thank you Jackpot Capital for this wonderful contest to express our gifts of love.
I adore you!
Thanks streak, love you too!
