US states are really now gearing up to join the online gambling sector with at present just Delaware, New Jersey and Nevada fully legalised to do so.
Illinois, New York, California, Massachusetts and now Pennsylvania ready to introduce online gambling bills, the landscape of online gambling could change dramatically over the next couple of years.
Much of the need to introduce online gambling in US states comes from huge black holes in state budgets, with many estimating that the introduction of online gambling would generate something
in the region of $400 million a year for state taxes.
Illinois and Pennsylvania share a total of 25 million residents, California would be the biggest entrant with just short of 40 million potential players in their state, with all three dwarfing current state operations with New Jersey with 8 million the largest.
