The effort to legalise online poker in California has taken another turn after proposed legislation up before the western state’s legislature was amended to increase the number of possible licenses that could be made available.
Known as Senate Bill 45 and introduced by California State Senator Lou Correa in mid-December, the proposed measure would, if passed, see approved Native American tribes and others authorized to operate games of poker on the Internet with the state receiving a percentage of the profits.
